So sorry for the wait *bows*

Glancing back lazily at the doctor as the mention of the Grand Line came up, the Captain looked rather intrigued to see whether or not the man would bolt. Then again, he wouldn't have been the first spineless weakling to stumble upon discovering the pirate's overly reckless ambition. More ships and sailors had gone to their deaths there than probably anywhere else in the world, but what waited beyond those waters was something that couldn't be gained without a willingness to stare death in the face. She made no attempt to comfort her crew with some imagined promise they would come back alive, because the truth was, no one could be certain of that and even if they did, it was unlikely they would ever be the same.
Then again, what was life without a little risk? It was better to experience a short amount of freedom than dying as a nobody on some backwater island. No, it was better to live without regrets and if they just so happened to change the world on the way, then perhaps it was all the better. Rei perked up slightly at the doctors mention of Lougetown, for obvious reasons. Any pirate worth his salt knew the importance of that location, but it still managed to catch Rei by some surprise. The doctor didn't seem to be the sentimental-pirate-type, so what was his real reason for wanting to go there of all place?
Nevertheless, it certainly gave Rei a few good ideas. Perhaps a final celebration before they made their way into the Grand Line? It would certainly be entertaining. "I can't see the crew having any objections. They've never been one to shy away from good drinks, not as long as I've known them anyway. Besides, there's a few sights that I'd like to visit there as well, if it's on the way." The Captain admitted somewhat lazily, letting out a slight yawn as they began to near the end of the docks. Her crimson eyes flickered up to the doctor curiously once more at his question regarding the ship, though the Captain seemed to ponder the possibilities a moment before answering.
"It'll probably be better if I show you around. The Carpe's not quite your average pirate ship and it's pretty easy to get lost, if you don't know your way around. There also the crew, but they can be a little.... Well, they're a little unusual to put it mildly." Rei admitted with a sheepish smile, though didn't attempt to go into detail. Nope, chances were Richard would find out that interesting little footnote much later on. Besides,... she wasn't quite sure how well he would take to the crew and from experience, the Captain knew just how easy it was to get turned around on the behemoth of a ship.
There was also the little matter of Richard's former occupation which required the Captain to be more logical about his introduction to the crew. Of course, seeing as Rei had no desire to string him up so quickly, it was probably best not to present with to many unnecessary temptations. Least, not until she was sure that he could be trusted to fulfill his duties without having to worry about him swiping anything. "Well, there she is... the Carpe Noctem!" Rei stopped, motioning out towards the ship. Not just any ship, mind you. Oh heavens no, this was a floating arsenal, a weapon that could have given a Marine warship a run for it's money.
If it was true that the Captain cast a grim shadow, it was nothing in comparison to the sight of the Carpe Noctem. The black hull of the ship seemed to loom over the inky waters around it, the long walkway leading upward to a destination that remained unseen. It's dark gray sails giving it appearance of some ghostly vessel, as the skeletal figurehead seemed to spring up to life in the waning hours of darkness, as though it could reach out and snatch away any unsuspecting souls that ventured to close. Of course, as it soon became apparent the ship was not quite as abandoned as it looked, as several shadowy human figures slipped down to the deck and darted around, busying themselves with readying the ship to leave.
Motioning with a wave of the hand, Rei soon leaned onto the nearby railing comfortably and albeit, just a little bit proudly. "Step lightly, doc! We want to make it out of the docks before sunrise." The Captain advised with a faint smirk in amusement. Then again, she knew better than most what kind of effects seeing the Carpe Noctem for the first time tended to have on people. Nevertheless, they had a schedule to keep and Rei wanted to be out to see before they began relaxing and making introductions. Speaking of which?... Where had that shipwright managed to get to?
