He simply hates the name, he would've prefered to be known as something at least a little fear inducing, y'know, instead of a bad pick-up line. BIRTHDATE: February 21th AGE: 20 GENDER: Male RACE: Shandian SEXUALITY: Bisexual MARITAL STATUS: Single ALIGNMENT: True neutralPOSITION: NavigatorCREW OR ORGANIZATION: N/A APPEARANCE INFORMATION FACE CLAIM: Koujaku from Dramatical Murder HAIR: A rather long black mess, usually tied up in a dubiously successful ponytail or something of the sort. Reaches a good bit below his shoulders. EYES: Plain, dark brown, though most shrug them off as being black HEIGHT: 5’9” WEIGHT: 140 lbs BODY BUILD: An active, and as-of-late, toilsome life has certainly left their mark. He has his fair share of muscles, though stringy and unyielding rather than packing raw power. ATTIRE: Takoda still dresses according to the climate of his homeland, often neglecting shirts and the like. It isn't just some stupid pride behind this choice, His wings have proven themselves to be an formidable opponent against most garments. Luckily Takoda has managed to get his hands on a large piece of cloth that he can wrap himself in when in colder weather. He still wears the loosely draped pants he wore on the day of his unfortunate fall, partly because they're quite comfortable, but mostly because he hasn't really got a second pair. He didn't really get the chance to pack and he has yet to find a decent replacement pair. OTHERS: As per Shandrian customs, tattoos adorn his skin, they cover most of his right arm. It's nothing spectacular, a black tribal pattern, irregularly making its way up from his hand up to his shoulder. He still likes it quite a bit though, it’s a constant reminder of his home. As well as the tattoo there is another permanent mark on his skin, that being the horizontal scar running across the bridge of his nose. There’s no dramatic story behind it, just a stray axe-dial that happened to nudge his face iduring training.Though not really strictly a part of Takoda, yet possibly one of his most memorable traits, save for the wings poking out of his shoulders perhaps, is the giant Southbird that follows him wherever he goes. He named it Sid in his youth and he's pretty much what you'd expect an Skypeian Southbird to look like, if you've seen one before of course. He's big, colorful and always facing south, though a domesticated life has made him a bit plumper than his wild brethren perhaps. PERSONALITY INFORMATION LIKES: Sid, Warm weather, Fruit, Smoking, Collecting various blue seas trinkets, flying, Things that remind him of home DISLIKES: Oglers, People pulling his wings, Rain, Large bodies of water, Swimming, Bugs SKILLS: Navigation – Having spent most of his life among the clouds he has gotten rather good at predicting their movements and the weather patterns that follows. Sid has proven himself to be quite useful as well, his knack for always finding south is practical to say the least. Sky Warfare – Takoda is a proud warrior of Shandia. Well, perhaps not the most experienced of the bunch but that is to be expected considering his age, but he still knows how to use his tools and weapons and how to do it effectively. His muscles have grown accustomed to the recoil of Impact dials to the extent where the only side effect is a slight numbing unless he uses it excessively. PERSONALITY: Takoda has never been a jolly individual, born and raised in the midst of the civil war and expected to take up arms from the moment he was able, it didn’t really nourish the fun-loving side in him. Sure, he will occasionally spit out a sarcastic comment or make some offhanded quip but that’s pretty much all you can expect from him, humor-wise at least. It doesn’t necessarily mean that he doesn’t appreciate humor but he will not be the one making the jokes, it’s simply not his style.A Shandian through and through is the way Takoda would like to describe himself, though no one he has met so far has any idea of what a Shandian even is so he has been forced to refrain from using that specific phrase. Nonetheless, the statement still stands true. He has been conditioned since birth to think that Upper Yard belongs to the Shandians and the Shandians alone. It is not a small amount of pride that drives him, though he's well aware of that the pride must take a back-seat in his life right now. Partly because no one would have the vaguest idea of what he'd blabbering on about and y'know, no one likes an asshole. He has a rather bleak outlook on life currently, and it isn’t hard to see why; he is in a land where he knows no one, everything is unknown to him and everyone seems terribly intent on trying to pull his wings off. At this point he just wants to get back home, and he is ready to do whatever it takes to make it happen. He has a vague idea of how the world below works and it seems like his best chance lies with the lawless. Not the route he would've prefered to take but he has little choice in the matter. Ofcourse, there are depths into which he isn't ready to sink into just yet, committing his life to crime for the amount of time it takes for him to come back home, that he can deal with, but he still has morals and rules to follow and he will stick to them. Some might call him dedicated, some might call him stubborn to the point of fault, it doesn't really matter to him. In light of recent events, he has discovered that he actually doesn't give much of a damn about people and their opinions as long as they don't come and bother him about it.. and well, it's hard not to be bothered when most treat him as if he is some kind of exotic addition to the petting zoo. However, The Southbird at his side stands a stark constrast to its master, at least personality-wise. Sid is, gently put, a coward. He's used to being pampered and since Takoda has a soft spot for the COMBAT INFORMATION SPECIALTY: Dial-based combat FIGHTING STYLE: Speed is of the essence, and speed he certainly doesn't lack. His dial-powered jet skates are one of the key tools when it comes to fighting, they allow him to accelerate and change direction on a moments notice which gives him the advantage of unpredictability. His impact dial gives him a viable close-combat option where his tactics revolves around making as many moves as possible in the hopes of finding a opening and then striking it with whatever power he has amassed in his impact dial. The flame bazooka naturally is better for striking from a distance. Though it should be noted that it's hard to be even remotely accurate when you're basically firing off a huge pillar of flames, there isn't much finesse behind it, point it towards what you want to burn, pull the trigger and hope for the best. It can have devastating results if you get a good hit but needlessly to say, it's better suited for larger objects such as ships and buildings. WEAPONS: Impact dial – A small pink seashell-like weapon hailing from Skypiea. It's rather small, big enough to comfortably fit in a grown man's palm. Of course, few catches a glimpse of it as it's usually hidden beneath the bandages Takoda wraps his hands in. The dial has little power on its own, it absorbs and stores any kinetic energy and is capable of striking back using that very same energy as long as it isn’t delivered with something sharp as the Impact Dial is made for blunt force. The energy doesn’t multiply or weaken, the amount stays the same. The dial is usable as long as there is some energy stored, there is no minimum or maximum limit, making the dial extremely dependent on the enemy’s strengthFlame Bazooka – A large gun made from a sturdy cylindrical tube. Inside are a series of Flame and Breath dials, containing well, fire and flammable gas respectively. Pulling activates the both of them, resulting in a powerful blast of flames being fired off. The fire is expelled with such a force that it’s able to destroy wood and other combustible objects within a reasonable range (~100 feet ) in a matter of seconds, Of course, the further you get, the less powerful the flames get. It’s somewhat of a bother to aim precisely as well, it’s no weapon for sharpshooters. Dagger – This dagger is nothing special, it’s rather short, about 8inches long, double edged and quite rusty. It’s just a piece of random junk Takoda picked up but he is strangely fond of it nonetheless. It’s one of the first blue seas object he found and despite its dubious usefulness, he likes to keep it close. In an actual combat situation it’s hardly the first weapon he’d resort to but hey, if he somehow would manage to get a stab in, its use would probably come with the bonus of a nasty infection. WEAPONS ABILITIES: Impact – Using his Impact dial Takoda will let it get hit by anything blunt, or that does not slice and will absorb the kinetic energy. Once the apex of the Dial is pressed, the stored energy is released, usually causing internal injuries to a living body, while not leaving any visible external damage. There is no cooldown period but the dial needs to be ‘recharged’ by absorbing hits, if it isn’t recharged after each hit, the dial is pretty much useless. BACKGROUND INFORMATION HISTORY: While it’s obvious Takoda isn’t from anywhere in the blue seas, few can actually place his island of origin. For whoever bothers to listen to him and doesn’t shrug off his story as some tall tale, they’d know that he came from Skypiea, the great island in the sky. His childhood wasn’t really the happiest it could’ve been but it certainly had it’s moments. Even though the struggle to re-take Upper Yard was going on even back then, it was relatively normal he supposes. He had friends to play with, some petty rivalries to attend to every now and then. Nothing spectacular, but he was happy nonetheless, unaware of the war that his people was waging over the piece of Vearth he only knew of by name.Ofcourse, as Takoda and his friends grew older, their little bubble of ignorance bursted, but the realization of the struggle of their people didn't fill them with horror or worry, no, it left them swelling with excitement. Young and stupid, they ran into the world, readying themselves for the fighting they knew would come. It was pretty much what you'd expect a bunch of irresponsible adolescents to get up to, setting out on long explorations and adventures, sparring, basically whatever felt like a good idea at the time. One day, they ventured to Upper Yard despite being warned countless times no to do so, because hey, why not? They didn’t stay long in fear of being discovered and getting into trouble or killed by enemy forces. They realized their mistake as soon as they saw those large, looming trees. On the way back however, they stumbled across a pitiable creature, an abandoned Southbird chick. It was making strange noises, looked weird and refused to be still for even the slightest of moments but the managed to get it back to the village without too much trouble. Some took it as a sign of good fortune as a creature of the Vearth had decided to bless them with its presence, some simply saw it as another mouth to feed. However, no matter what the rest of the tribe thought, the bird never strayed from Takoda’s side, they had grown attached to eachother, the boy had even named the bird, “Sid” which perhaps wasn’t the most imaginative name in retrospect. Any attempts to return it to its natural habitat was futile, Takoda would wake up with the bird perched on his windowsill every morning, no exceptions, and that trend continued until Sid had grown too large, at which point he would settle with patiently waiting outside until Takoda woke up. The years passed, Takoda grew older and when he came of age, he joined the fighting. In the beginning he was mainly sent out as a scout, mapping out new areas and plausible routes though slowly but surely, he climbed the ranks. His life was pretty linear at this point, some days he fought, some days he didn’t, and so it continued up until recently. The day of his little fall he had been assigned to scout an area near the edges of the ocean clouds but in a moment of lacking focus, he failed to notice a gap in the clouds and.. well, he fell. pretty far. It's no understatement that Sid saved his life that day, there's no doubt in his mind that if the Southbird hadn't been by his side back then, he would've ended up a red little dot in the mass of blue, but luckily Sid was there to prevent that fate. Though he was a little too late still, when the Southbird finally had managed to get a grip of his master and stabilized itself, they were already far below the cloudline and a storm was raging. A storm that would carry them far off course, make them loose all sense of direction and eventually would drop them off somewhere over the still belt. It was not easy, Sid was on the verge on collapsing after each wingstroke but somehow, they made it. They landed on an island, inhabited by strange wingless folk. Luckily, they were kind, they fed him and gave him a bed to rest in, but most important of all, they informed him about these unfamiliar blue seas and it became very apparent that he was a very long way from home.
